Selling or Exchanging your items with us
It is now possible to sell your own records to us, or exchange them for other items we have in stock. We fully realise that selling or trading your items through the post could be a bit daunting, so here are a few guidelines before you contact us.
Visiting the Retrobloke Shop
The easiest way for us to buy your record collection is to bring it to our Real World shop at 47 Church Road , Hendon , London , NW4 4EB. If you have a large collection and would like to discuss it first, you can call the shop directly on 020 8203 8868. If your collection is too large to be transported to the shop, and not too far away, we may be able to visit you and buy your collection. We do occasionally travel further distances if your collection is very big, and interesting.

Grading
If selling your collection to us through the mail, firstly the collection needs to be relatively interesting. Standard issue 70s or 80s pop by major artists are of very little interest. You can always sent us a preliminary email to see if the kinds of records you have for sale are what we would be interested in.
You will also need to grade the items you are going to send to us, sticking as close as you can to our own Grading system. You can see our grading system by clicking here.
Buying items without seeing them is difficult, and the majority of the records we are offered are not of collectible quality, so it is not advisable to over grade your items, as each item will be checked before your exchange items or payment are sent. If we do not agree with the grades you have given, we will either lower their value or return the items to you, usually at your cost. That said, we always do our best to be fair and are always honest, and will do our best to make sure you are happy with the deal or exchange.
Listing your items
Once your items have been sorted and graded, we welcome emailed lists. Things to remember when sending us lists is to paste the list into an email, rather than attaching as a download. Thanks to previous virus experience, we rarely download unsolicited files. Also remember to include the grade of each item. For rarer items, more information may be required, like the catalogue number, mono or stereo, or country of release. You can of course also post us lists to the Retrobloke address.
Postage Costs
While we don’t pay the cost of getting your items to us, within the UK we will pay the cost of getting any items you require in exchange back to you. Unfortunately, due to the cost of sending overseas, we currently can not offer the service worldwide.
How Much will you get?
When we email you back the prices for your items we will give you an exchange price. This is the amount each item is worth against items we have in stock. If you would prefer cash for your items, then the total is half of the exchange amount. For example, an LP may be worth 3.00 Pounds exchange, but will only be worth 1.50 Pounds in cash.
The prices we offer for items is changeable, often dependent on whether we have many similar items in stock, or the rarity, and of course condition. Do note that prices offered for records by all record dealers is only a percentage of so called guide prices. And don’t worry if you change your mind, we won’t be offended if you decline our offer.
